Pneumatic coupling that replaces the standard coupling (Haldex) of the rear differential, thus dramatically improving the off road performance of your Duster by avoiding failure and decoupling of the rear differential in demanding situations.
The original system uses a Haledx clutch electronically controlled by the car's transmission computer, having the advantage of the possibility of engaging the rear axle on the go when there is a significant loss of grip (traction) on the front axle (car mode).
The major disadvantage of the original system is that, similar to the gearbox clutch, this coupling heats up and can be destroyed if 4x4 traction is used aggressively (but this kind of usage is specific to the Off road driving conditions) and to prevent this, the traction system includes a program for protection and automatic decoupling of the rear differential in case of overheat.
The solution offered by Mudster replaces this system with a much more robust one, based on pneumatically coupled sprockets.
The major advantage of this solution is the reliability, with the actuated coupling the traction can be used aggressively without risking to "lose" the 4x4 mode by overheating.
The disadvantage could be only the loss of control by the traction computer on the rear differential, the task of the driver being to select the proper driving mode ( 4x2 or 4x4 (4x2 / 4x4 / Auto mode selector becomes useless).
